One Small Step Toward Belonging.

Counselling to help you gently re-engage socially through safe goals, belief work, and practical skill-building.

Social Withdrawal Issues

Social withdrawal often begins as protection but can become loneliness and missed opportunities. At HappinessCue, our Social Withdrawal Issues sessions help you safely re-enter connection through paced social goals, safety planning, and belief work that reduces shame.

We begin by understanding reasons for withdrawal-anxiety, burnout, grief, or mismatch between values and social settings. Counsellors co-create tiny re-engagement steps that suit energy levels: a brief message to a trusted friend, a short community activity, or attending a micro-event with an exit plan. Each step practises skills-introductions, boundary-setting, and self-soothing-to reduce overwhelm.

Therapy also targets internal narratives that maintain withdrawal: “I’ll be boring,” or “I don’t fit.” Cognitive exercises and behavioural evidence rebuild alternative stories based on actual feedback. Social skills coaching (listening cues, small talk starters) adds practical competence, while relapse prevention plans keep momentum when dips occur.

We emphasise dignity: re-engagement is optional and paced by you-not pressured. Families can receive guidance on supportive prompts that respect autonomy. Over time, small contacts rebuild confidence and belonging.

At HappinessCue, re-connection starts with one small, safe step-and we walk it with you.
