Defiant & Oppositional Behaviour

Defiance isn’t always rebellion - sometimes it’s protection. At HappinessCue, our Defiant & Oppositional Behaviour sessions explore the emotional roots behind resistance, control issues, and “automatic no” patterns.

We identify whether defiance arises from past invalidation, fear of control, or identity assertion. Counsellors then help you learn cooperative communication, boundary negotiation, and flexible thinking - tools that preserve autonomy without creating conflict.

Sessions include behavioural mapping to recognise triggers (authority, criticism, pressure), alongside self-soothing strategies to reduce oppositional reflexes.

You’ll gain a sense of empowerment through choice rather than resistance - learning to disagree calmly without emotional escalation.
