Mental Health & Minority Stress

Minority stress - the chronic strain of living in a non-affirming world - affects many LGBTQIA+ individuals. At HappinessCue, our Minority Stress Counselling sessions focus on building resilience, hope, and self-care in the face of systemic and social challenges.

We help clients recognise the psychological impact of stigma, discrimination, and micro-aggressions, while teaching coping strategies such as emotional grounding, assertive communication, and support-seeking behaviour. Counsellors also work on trauma release and narrative reframing to reduce internal stress load.

Sessions often include mind-body techniques - breathwork, journaling, self-affirmation - that help restore emotional equilibrium.

You can’t control every environment, but you can control your inner response to it. We help you build that power.
